We’re pleased to share some exciting news—Bret’s Auto Repair is under new ownership!
After 38 years of dedicated service to the Lynnwood community, Bret Hartman has made the decision to retire and entrust the business to a new owner who shares the same values of honesty, quality, and exceptional customer care that you’ve come to rely on.
We are excited to introduce George Schoonover as the new owner. With over 21 years of experience successfully managing independent auto repair shops, George brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on expertise. A true jack-of-all-trades, he’s equally comfortable providing top-notch customer service as he is assisting with repairs, thanks to his ASE-certified background as a mechanic.
George’s deep roots in the Lynnwood area include 18 years managing Jeff’s Auto Repair, located less than half a mile from Bret’s shop. During his time there, George earned a stellar reputation for leadership, guiding the shop to multiple accolades, including the prestigious King 5 Evening Magazine’s “Best of Western WA” award and the AAA “Top Shop Award,” which they won consecutively for over 10 years.
Bret and George have long been colleagues in the local auto repair industry, sharing mutual respect for each other’s dedication and work ethic. George is committed to continuing the legacy of exceptional service while introducing fresh energy and innovation.
